Celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of Flip Factory

Group photo of Flip Factory Community on December 6, 2025.

What a year it has been but hey! It ain’t ova! Today music is happening in Norwalk, CT at Full Haus Records and there is one more Flip Factory event happening Friday, December 19th.But not to be overlooked, two years is quite the milestone and I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been brewing in Springfield, MA.

2 YEARS OF SAMPLES

Flip Factory is a community of producers, artists and musicians in Springfield, Mass united by their love for music, particularly hip hop and rap that samples other music. Monthly showcases feature producers who offer their own twist on selected samples. Jorge Olavarria, Lennos and Truck Julius are the backbone of Flip Factory, providing the sound, securing the venues, organizing the showcases and also sharing their creative work.

Feature Story

COLLABORATION ALERT: HARTFORD BEAT CLUB

Performing at Make-It-Springfield on Bridge St, Springfield, MA, guests from Hartford Beat Club are a collective of producers that routinely challenge each other to beat battles.

The last Flip Factory event of 2025 features musicians from Hartford, CT. While Flip Factory usually focuses on a set of samples with the aim to share an artist’s take or interpretation, Hartford has a different style. A few weeks ago I had the chance to catch an especially heated beat battle at their studio, a “civil war” between Finesso Beats and Steede Chinan. A show of hands usually determines the victor, however that night three judges were chosen from the crowd - and I was one of them. Who, me?! Yeah, it was wild. Both threw down for seven rounds. And even when it was over, it wasn’t over. But the tenacity of the battle shifted to sharing music for the joy of it. But don’t be fooled - there are no days off in HBC.

So, if you’re feeling tenacious, or you want to, Friday December 19th is your chance to check out the Hartford vibe!

The Highlights

YOUR MONTHLY DROP

In case you missed the activity on social media, find a few highlights from this month.

Playing the classical guitar my auntie gave to me (actually to my sister…).

PERFORMING “HOME”

See me in the wild! Performing “Home” at the 2nd Anniversary of Flip Factory. This song dates back to the day I played in Austin, TX in 2013 when trying to get a showcase at SXSW.

Working on a new song, inspired by my beat-making buddies.

I’M MAKING BEATS

I’m getting back into the groove with the Maschine MK3, which I started playing with in 2020. I’m getting back in the saddle so I can partake in what’s on the calendar in 2026 😄

A Final Note

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS TENNESSEE ROSE?

You better come to the last Flip Factory event of the year!
